It was a shame, when the rest of us are joining together to try to defeat the menace of graffiti in our city, Councillor Geoffrey Theobald, the Conservative leader, chose to make a party political point.

In fact, this Labour council set up the very effective "graffiti buster" scheme, which makes a great contribution. But graffiti is not just a problem in Brighton and Hove. Any search of the internet will show Coun Theobald it is a worldwide problem. The way to fight it is with the "three Rs" - report, record, remove - not with petty, party political point scoring.
