I jumped on the No 50 bus with three bags of shopping. It was packed, so I counted myself very lucky to find a seat near the door. Unfortunately, I was unaware this space was reserved for baby buggies but I soon was informed by a rather large, irate lady that I had to move myself and bags elsewhere.
Being a rather peaceful person, I did my best to do so. In the meantime, I had been standing in the bus aisle for about ten minutes when a little girl, who won't be three years old until the middle of next month, got up off her seat and came over to me and said: "You come and sit on my seat and I will sit on your knee." I was so grateful I could hardly believe my eyes or ears.
From now until the day I die, I shall never again let anyone say a bad word about the younger generation. By the way, this little girl's mother told me her birthday was on May 10. That is the same day as my husband's birthday to whom I have been maried for 38 years. Do you think there was some sort of telepathy between us?
