Like many others, I had problems finding somewhere to live this year ("Housing crisis for students", Argus, April 21), only finding a place that has since been given notice to close by Brighton and Hove City Council.
Both universities have been complacent in failing to increase university-managed housing in line with rising student numbers.
Now the private sector is pricing both students and low-paid people out of accommodation, the universities complain.
Unless the authorities and the universities get together to address this issue, I will have to consider completing my studies elsewhere. This crisis could jeopardise the proposed medical school as well.
I hope action will be taken and not a host of excuses announced to do nothing.
