ALBION boss Micky Adams is a leading contender for two more top awards.

The promoted Seagulls' all-conquering supremo seems certain to be named the Nationwide Third Division manager of the year.

He is also in the frame for another of the League sponsor's manager of the month prizes.

Albion go into today's potential title clincher against Macclesfield at Withdean with a record of three wins and two draws in April, including the promotion triumph at Plymouth.

Adams' main challenger is Brian Little of Hull.

Little has steered the Tigers to three victories and a draw this month ahead of today's crucial clash against Chesterfield at Boothferry Park.

Adams was named manager of the month in September, when Albion launched their promotion charge with five wins and a draw at Cardiff.

Meanwhile, the manager will press for more of his promotion squad to receive medals if the Seagulls get the point they need from their last four games to clinch the title.

"They give you 16 medals for players but also a facility to buy extras," Adams said.

"I would hope people who have been involved in the promotion squad will each be given a medal."

That would include the likes of young striker Scott Ramsay, whose ten League appearances so far falls just below the Football League's 25 per cent qualification guideline.

l Chesterfield are taking legal advice in response to the Football League board of directors' decision to reconvene the disciplinary panel into financial irregularities at the Saltergate club.

The Spireites are unhappy that the board viewed the proposed nine-point deduction as too lenient.

The League refused to ratify the original punishment and a new hearing will now be held in Leeds on Tuesday to reconsider the matters.
