It can be devastating when you discover your partner is having an affair.

Even more difficult to deal with when you find out it is with your best friend.

Ironically, David discovered Christine's affair while he was "covering" for his pal Steve.

They worked together and had been friends since school days.

One afternoon, when Steve's wife rang to find out when he would be home David answered and under instruction from Steve passed the message on he would be working very late.

Thinking David had left the office, Steve rang Christine. David was stunned to overhear the words "I love you Chrissie".

David would not accept that the marriage was over and suggested they try some counselling. Reluctantly Christine agreed.

After several weeks of counselling it became clear to them both their marriage was far from over.
