DAVE Procter hammered 141 as Glynde cruised into the second round of the East Sussex League's Golden Galleon Trophy.

Adam McBrown chipped in with 78 and Stuart Mouland added 55 not out as Glynde amassed a superb 341-6. In reply, Buxted Park were skittled out for 54 with Danny Sheppersson and Dominic Shepherd collecting three wickets apiece.

Ringmer produced an impressive run chase to overhaul Crowhurst Park's total of 171-3. Debutant Martin Menezes top-scored with 49 not out for Park but Ringmer, under new skipper Gary Holder, reached victory with three wickets in hand thanks to 60 from Murray Barnett.

Gary Poulter top-scored with 70 as DPB (Eastbourne) made 184-6 and that proved enough for victory as hosts Beaulieu were dismissed for 140 in reply despite 71 from Ben Collins.

The other five ties were decided by the toss of a coin and the quarter final draw is: Glynde v Chiddingly, Ringmer v Hellingly, Rye v DPB (Eastbourne), Seaford v Battle.

The only game in the Sussex Invitation League saw Clymping have the better of a draw with Keymer and Hassocks. Benn Challen scored 62 not out as Clymping made 199-4 but Keymer held on at 148-7 in reply.

In the Cuckmere Valley League, only one of the four Tommy Lusted Cup quarter finals survived the weather.

Hosts Firle made 128-9 thanks largely to John Stephens (39) and Bells Yew Green were rolled over for 48 in reply with Richard Ellinor taking 3-7.

In the Plate, John Daubney's 43 not out included four sixes as East Dean made 110-8. Home side Denton fell for 50.

Keith Richardson (75) and Lee Poulton (72) were among the runs as Alfriston made 170-4. In reply, Firle II were bowled out for 67 with Simon Harmer and Paul Wilson taking three wickets apiece.

The opening day of the Mid Sussex League was washed out.
