Micky Adams has rebuked Albion's Third Division opponents for snubbing nine of his players.
Only two Seagulls were selected for the PFA's Third Division team of the season.
The prolific Bobby Zamora and star centre half Danny Cullip got the vote from their fellow pros, but there was no place for the likes of keeper Michel Kuipers and rightback Paul Watson.
Boss Adams said: "I think the two nominated were well deserved. I am slightly surprised a couple more didn't get in, although it looked a good team."
Albion are aiming to make their title triumph official by beating Chesterfield in tonight's crunch clash at Withdean.
That would guarantee the Seagulls finishing above their arch-rivals, regardless of points deducted from the Spireites for financial irregularities.
"We are very determined to win it without that," said Cullip. "We were very unfortunate to come away losing at their place and we want to prove we are the best team in the League."
The last-gasp 1-0 defeat with ten men at Saltergate in October, after Charlie Oatway had been red carded for two bookable offences, still rankles with the Albion players.
"It was very disappointing up there," Cullip said. "Charlie was very unjustly sent-off. It was the reaction of their players which got him dismissed."
Adams blamed referee Mike Ryan. He said a top official should have been appointed and he gets his wish tonight.
Steve Bennett, who is on the Premiership list, takes charge of a potentially explosive encounter.
"We would like to end the season with a decent performance at home," Adams said. "If we can round things off in style that would be nice, but I am expecting a very tough game.
"I think Chesterfield will come out all guns blazing just to show they are the best team in the division."
