A would-be MP censured for trying to use confidential information about fellow party members will learn his political fate tonight.
Liberal Democrat chiefs will decide whether East Sussex county councillor Stephen Murphy should continue as parliamentary hopeful for Wealden.
Coun Murphy, who represents Hailsham, was found guilty by the council's standards committee after a complaint by fellow Lib Dems Nick and Madeline Ellwood.
He was told he had betrayed strict confidence in trying to use personal information about the Ellwoods to his advantage.
