After all the millions that have been spent on the Dome complex, one would have thought Brighton and Hove City Council could have found the extra amount to save the organ without asking the public to donate (Argus, April 26) - which I am sure they readily will.
I knew Douglas Reeve personally and am sure everyone who knew him would agree he was a lovely man.
I had the pleasure of appearing in "Tuesday At The Dome" twice as a stand-up comedian - my stage name was Max Ray - so I got to know Douglas quite well. The person who first ran the shows was Alderman Nicholls from the council.
I do hope this appeal is successful. To me and, I'm sure, many others, the Dome is part of our heritage.
