A handful of protesters staged an anti-capitalism and animal rights demonstration in Brighton.
Activists waved banners while others danced around Maypoles in the shopping areas of Brighton and Hove at the same time as a May Day protest brought London's streets to a standstill.
Brighton and Hove's demonstration, under a banner of anti-capitalism and animal rights, remained peaceful.
The main protest took place outside the Royal Pavilion.
