More than 40 jobs are being created at a food company which has revealed plans for two new diners.

Subs 2 Go already has a sandwich shop in North Street, Brighton, but is planning more as part of major expansion plans.

One is opening this week in St James's Street, Brighton, and there are moves to launch another on Brighton seafront.

The Fifty Fifty Food Company is negotiating for four more properties in East Sussex and is likely to expand further along the South Coast.

Rebecca Drew, of the Fifty Fifty Food Company, said: "There are some superb sites in Brighton. We are using this as our pilot store and have spent £100,000 on it. It is a great site and well worth a visit."

An application will go before Brighton and Hove council to allow it to open until 3am.

Ten members of staff have already been recruited for the St James's Street premises and ten more will be taken on.

The firm said a further 20 jobs would be created when plans for a new site on the seafront got off the ground.
