I am concerned the runway at Shoreham Airport might be extended yet again to accommodate larger planes.

I also understand the GMB union has spoken out after a report that the BAe 146 aircraft may put staff at risk for technical and health reasons. The planned extended runway will run from east to west, which will place the flight path firmly over the built-up area of Lancing.

The manager at the airport says the larger planes will make less noise but I remain to be convinced. I am all for jobs being created but not at the expense of health and safety.
