Tory activist Ken Nor-man gains a high Scrooge rating for his attack on Labour's trust fund proposal (Opinion, April 28).
The last Tory government left one in three children growing up in poverty.
Since 1997, Labour has helped the families of more than one million of those children out of poverty with increased child benefit, the national minimum wage, the working families' tax credit and the children's tax credit and by competently managing the economy to provide one million more jobs.
The so-called baby bonds are the next part of that strategy, which will tackle child poverty and create better opportunities in life of all our children.
