A seven-year-old boy on a micro scooter suffered serious leg injuries when he was trapped under the wheel of a car.
The boy, who was with friends, rolled onto the road on a friend's scooter from behind a parked car.
A woman driver swerved to avoid him but her Rover 414i skidded sideways down the Ravenswood Drive, Woodingdean, Brighton, at 5.45pm yesterday.
The boy was trapped under one of the car's wheels, fracturing his right leg in two places.
He also suffered a severe cut to an ankle.
He was taken by ambulance to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
The 33-year-old driver suffered shock but was otherwise unhurt.
