The wonderfully-dry John Moloney gave his skewed view on English life when he took to the Komedia stage.
The celebrated stand-up covered the usual topics such as growing old and being a bloke.
To his credit he gave a fresh slant to these topics.
His timing was superb, his delivery that of a master craftsman - the signature of a man totally at home on the stage. Amiable and likeable, his one-liners were the perfect start to the Brighton Festival.
Komedia, Gardner Street, Brighton, Saturday
