A store which was shut by a huge rock fall is to reopen - with the help of shoppers named Cliff.
Asda at Brighton Marina will reopen tomorrow after four weeks. It was shut on April 9 when 2,000 tonnes of rock tumbled from the cliffs above it, damaging an electricity generator and knocking out the sprinkler system.
Store bosses are inviting customers called Cliff to release dozens of balloons to mark the reopening.
Engineers have reported that the likelihood of another fall the size of the one that closed the store was "tiny" and the risk of further falls "extremely small".
The fall was the last, and one of the largest, of 14 cliff falls in the area since December. Store manager Jonathan Smith said: "I am delighted that we now have the report back and it states we can safely reopen the store."
During the shutdown Asda was able to decorate the store and add a pharmacy, new fruit and vegetable department and cosmetics range.
There will be a jazz band and face painting for children at tomorrow's opening ceremony.
Mr Smith said: "I would like to say a massive thank you to all our colleagues for their hard work and I would also like to say thank you to our customers for being so patient."
The Undercliff Walk behind the store is likely to stay closed until September while Brighton and Hove City Council works to secure the cliffs.
