Old fashioned glamour and champagne are on the menu for the revamping of a pub.
The Freemasons in Western Road, Hove, will be given a £150,000 facelift in September both inside and out.
The art deco exterior will be restored to its original glory and a champagne and cocktail bar will be installed on the first floor.
The pub's owners, Tanya and Darcy Gander who took over last November, have enlisted the help of a designer and cocktail maker to the stars.
Brighton-based designer Alan Phillips, who featured in the Channel 4 series Grand Designs and has designed for the likes of Bono from U2, will be involved in transforming the pub.
Mr Phillips, who owns Alan Phillips Associates in New England House, said: "I'm a local at the pub so it's nice to get involved in working on the designs there. You can't really get it wrong or you won't be able to face your mates."
Mr Phillips will be incorporating slate, bronze, mosaic and leather in the design of the upstairs bar.
Mr and Mrs Gander were inspired to create a cocktail bar after talking to Chris Edwards, the owner of Blanch House hotel in Kemp Town.
Before his move into the hotel business, Mr Edwards was the manager of celebrity hangout the Groucho Club and knows more than most about mixing drinks.
Mrs Gander said: "Chris is going to be our cocktail adviser.
"We want to produce a few quality cocktails rather than hundreds that nobody has every heard of. Chris was very involved in the London celebrity scene and knows which cocktails are successful."
The mosaic exterior of the pub will be restored after Mr and Mrs Gander discovered paintwork covering bronze mouldings.
The paint will be stripped off to expose the original bronze and the mosaic patterning will be restored.
The downstairs bar will also be overhauled, but will have the same friendly atmosphere.
Leather couches and a food service bar will be installed and original art deco features will be emphasised.
The central bar will remain and so, the owners hope, will the current customers.
A two-storey extension will be made to the back of the building, subject to planning permission. This will house 'spectacular' toilets on two levels, also designed by Mr Phillips.
The changes will be fazed in during September so the pub will not have to close its doors.
