A woman bravely struggled with a burglar who broke into her parents' house in Mid Sussex.
The 21-year-old woman was on her own in the house in Rookery Way, Haywards Heath, when the burglar walked into her bedroom.
When he saw her he ran downstairs and tried to grab a video tape as he went.
The woman chased him, grabbed him and snatched the tape back. The intruder then ran out of the house.
The burglar was between 20 and 30, slim, about 5ft 6in tall, and had a pale complexion and short dark hair. He wore blue jeans, a white top and a black bomber jacket.
The woman was not hurt during the incident, which happened at about 2.15pm yesterday.
Detectives are keen to speak to the owner of a blue Metro seen in the area around the time of the incident.
