I am an ex-Brightonian, living in Australia, and catch up with local news via your web site every day.
I have been following the Albion's progress with interest over the last few months and am delighted by their Third Division championship.
Eighteen years ago, on the day the Albion played Manchester United in the cup final, I became the proud owner of a kitten whose name, I thought, should reflect the importance of such an auspicious occasion.
"Seagull" was considered but seemed somehow inappropriate for a moggie. "Albion" definitely had potential. We finally decided on "Wembley".
Our local vet, a Scottish gentleman with a handlebar moustache and plaid trousers, was impressed with our choice of name but suggested "Hampden Park" would have been better.
Sadly, Wembley died last year but his name will, indeed, live on forever.
