Peacehaven are one win away from promotion back to division one of the Rich City County League.
A 3-2 victory over Bosham last night left Peacehaven needing three points from their remaining two games against Storrington and Worthing United to be sure of going up.
Even if they fail to do that, East Grinstead will need to win all four of their remaining matches to overhaul Peter Edwards' side.
Goals from Simon Jones, a Leighton Allen penalty and Keith Pondayi were enough to beat a Bosham side who twice equalised through Simon Leggatt and an own goal.
East Grinstead were held to a 1-1 draw at Oakwood. Stuart Hardy netted a second half equaliser for the Wasps after Hobbs had put the home side ahead.
At the other end of the table, Crowborough were relegated after losing 2-1 at home to Storrington, whose scorers were Eamonn Searle and Dean Leaver with an 87th minute winner. Darren Longley netted for the home side.
Crawley Down made sure of their place in division two next year with a 3-1 win at Wealden thanks to Eddie Thomson (two) and Matt Stevenson. Lee Sale had put Wealden ahead.
SHAUN Grice scored four goals against his old club as Ringmer crushed Saltdean United 7-1 in division one of the Rich City County League.
Another Saltdean old-boy Kevin Townsend was also on target along with Neil Shelley and Wes Tate. Lea Elliott got the consolation.
Wick beat Sidlesham 2-1 thanks to first half goals from Lee Gibbs and Julian Curnow. Lee Mould replied.
A JOHN Scriven goal was enough to give Haywards Heath the Division Three Cup.
Scriven struck in the 19th minute to secure a 1-0 win over Steyning Town.
In division three, goals from Cook, Mason, Hall and Aylett earned St Francis a 4-2 win at Uckfield Town, who replied through Paul Divall and Andy Potter.
In the Brighton Charity Cup, Whitehawk beat Shoreham on penalties after their semi-final had ended 1-1. Peter Counsell netted in open play for Shoreham with Nigel Jones on target for the Hawks.
