Saxophone player Sarah Field has more than just the luck to possess long legs and blonde hair. She is a performer of great distinction.
Teaming up with accomplished pianist Simon Lepper, Field gave a recital of 20th-Century classical music ranging from Darius Milhaud's Scaramouche to Chick Corea's Children's Songs.
She has an easy, laid-back style, which is always clear and crisp in her delivery and is a delight on the ear.
Her strong card is the cradle-type songs she performs but she brought the house down with her accounts of Massenet's Meditations from his opera Thas.
Simon Lepper is no slouch as an accompanist. His piano playing smoothly supported Sarah's saxophone and he was an easy performer of Debussy's Clair De Lune.
