Albion striker Lee Steele is on the transfer list, we can reveal today.
Boss Micky Adams has decided Steele's future lies elsewhere following a disastrous debut season for the Seagulls.
Adams had high hopes for the Liverpudlian after beating other clubs for his signature last summer on a Bosman free transfer from Shrewsbury.
Steele was the top scorer at Gay Meadow for three seasons in succession.
But his Albion career got off to the worst possible start when he suffered an ankle injury in the opening day defeat at Southend.
He sustained knee damage in a car crash just before Christmas and was later sent-off in a Reserve match for fighting.
Steele made only a handful of starts in Albion's championship campaign.
Adams has put him on the list halfway through a two-year contract.
The Seagulls are open to offers for the 27-year-old and Adams is now after another front man to give Albion more options in the Second Division next season.
He wants a big centre forward to complement 31-goal Bobby Zamora.
