Hastings and St Leonards' Spring Series came to a climax last Sunday as the Pollard brothers, Shaun and Mark, overcame the challenge of Barry Duck and Simon Terry.
Don Bowles won the Laser race with Roy Sandford second while Steve Clark was number one in the Topper fleet ahead of John Wiseman. In the afternoon, the Dart 16 honours went to Duck and Terry after a fierce battle with the Pollard brothers, who failed to finish after capsizing twice. The Topper race winner was Alex Farrant from Steve Clark.
On Monday. the morning session of the Johnny Johnstone Handicap Cup races was won by Steve Clark in his Topper, Jamie Gibbons and Kevin Richardson in a Laser 5000 were in a close second place while Phil Cosham and Jim Corrigan (Miracle) were third.
In the afternoon, the Laser 5000 crew were first, Clark second and Cosham and Corrigan a close third.
Tied on points, last race positions counted to give Gibbons and Richardson (Laser 5000) the overall victory. Tomorrow (Sunday) at Hastings the annual Federation Cup takes place.
Lancing SC completed another four races of their Summer series last weekend.

Sunday pm: 1 Mike and Diana Croker (Laser 2), 2 Tony White (Contender), 3 Alex Koukourakis (RS600). Monday am: 1 Pete Matthews and Gavin Hardman (Laser 4000), 2 Colin Norris and Alistair Smith (Laser 2), 3 Robert Trevis and Ian Sykes (Laser 2). Monday pm: 1 Pete Matthews and Gavin Hardman.
The Laser and Laser Radial Fleet Sunday morning race was won by Andy Carter (Laser) with Mark Lloyd (Laser Radial) second. Karen Littlejohn (Laser radial) was third.
Monday morning's race was led home by Mark Lloyd with Ian Beale second and Roger Dowty third (both Lasers).
A depleted Topper fleet, due to many sailors visiting the inland national event at Graffham Water, saw Richard Skardon record four first places in two different classes.
The Medium fleet saw Mark Lloyd win both afternoon races on Sunday and Monday, with Alan Simmons (Streaker) second on Sunday and Roger Dowty (Laser) on Monday. Dave Penwarden was third in a Laser Radial in both races.
Lancing sent a seven-strong Topper fleet to take part at Graffham where there was a 193-boat entry.
Choppy conditions made life difficult but Ollie Page, taking his last outing in a Topper, produced his best set of results for this competition to finish 21st overall with a best result of 11th and was awarded with a Graffham Plate.

Sussex Yacht Club's annual RNLI Bowl race last Saturday was held in a gusting north easterly force four in conjunction with Shoreham SC with 35 boats on the water.
Warwick Baker and Howard Brekells aboard a Javelin led at the first mark followed by an Osprey. On the final reach the Javelin's spinnaker pole broke and, while the crew were trying to retrieve the spinnaker, a gust took helm Warwick Baker over and the boat sailed on. The crew retrieved the spinnaker and returned to collect Warwick.
The Javelin finished the race and on handicap corrected time only just lost the trophy to the Solo of Peter Bennett by a few seconds.
