David Gold has frequently been quoted in The Argus, along with the other two Conservative candidates, that he wants a "rethink" on Section 28.
On the very day the General Election was called, his party leader enthusiastically endorsed it.
Is this a testament to the local Tories' powers of persuasion or was William Hague just having a bad hair day?
