I was disappointed to read from John Daniel (Opinion, April 24) that he was refused permission to leave overnight bags in the reception area while visiting the Royal Pavilion in Brighton.
The Pavilion is a very special building and it seems likely, for security or insurance reasons, or both, the management was bound to refuse this facility to visitors.
Many local attractions are in the same boat: no one without full security facilities can afford to accept responsibility for items of this nature.
My company recently opened premises on the seafront at 164 Kings Road Arches, Brighton, where, for a small fee, visitors can leave any amount of baggage and other items in complete security. Local attractions could do themselves, their customers and Brighton a great service by pointing them in this direction. If they call us on 01273 773776, we'll be happy to provide free leaflets incorporating a map showing our exact location.
