All footpaths in the Adur district will reopen to the public on Friday.
Adur District Council said that included footpaths in the Lancing Ring and Mill Hill conservation areas and along the River Adur.
The council is acting to reopen the rights of way on the advice of West Sussex County Council and the Sussex Downs Conservation Board after shutting them as a precaution against foot and mouth disease.
The county council wants most of its 2,500 miles of footpaths and bridleways reopened by the end of this week.
