Low-floor buses have returned to Burgess Hill after a flood of complaints from passengers.
The service ended in the town in April after the contract to provide buses was awarded to Worthing firm Compass Travel for three years.
Brighton and Hove Bus Company had provided four low-floor buses, which make it easier for elderly and disabled people and parents with buggies to get on board, on behalf of West Sussex County Council.
Now the council has offered Compass Travel extra money to invest in four new Dennis Dart low-floor single-deckers for most services.
The 29-seat buses will replace the vehicles which have been running since April.
A spokesman for Compass Travel said: "Initially West Sussex County Council did not award us enough money to run the service and provide low- floor buses.
"This meant some members of the public could not use the vehicles.
"But because we and the council received so many complaints they found extra money so we could buy the buses."
Mark Hammond, West Sussex County Council's Director of Environment and Development, said: "We are delighted we can provide this service for the community."
