My wife and I were delighted to read that Joe McGann had been given a lucrative contract for a new series.
My wife is disabled and I am well past 70. Some months ago we were on our way home from holiday and entered a carriage at Gatwick with three heavy cases and who should be sitting there but Joe and two friends.
We both knew who he was but respected his privacy.
Nonetheless, we enjoyed a happy midnight journey to Brighton in their company.
On arrival at Brighton, Joe picked up our cases as if they were matchboxes and carried them the full length of the train and out to the taxi rank for us.
Our gratitude goes to a real gentleman and we wish you every success in your new show.
