I am disgusted at whoever is responsible for leaving the top of Wilson Avenue, Brighton, looking like a rubbish tip.
Mounds of Tarmac have been left since the roadworks finished. Quite often, there were lorries, side by side, unloading or loading. There were even lorries in the road two abreast.
Wilson Avenue is already a dangerous road. Numerous accidents have already happened - one fatal.
My husband rang Brighton and Hove City Council's highways department to complain and asked where these roadworks were taking place. The reply was they "weren't sure".
He asked if the roads were being fixed in Whitehawk and the person said no. So why do we have to have the inconvenience on our doorstep?
This part of Wilson Avenue is a recreation ground, where people walk dogs and fly kites. The highways department promised to look into it but the road is still left looking like an eyesore.
I feel so sorry for the parents of the young lad who was killed. Every week, there are fresh flowers tied around the lamp-post and daffodils were out in bloom. It upset me that so much rubbish surrounded it. Don't these people have any feelings for anybody?
