Brian Ralfe of Hove (Opinion, May 14) asked "what world is Ian Hart living in?" From my observations, it is a far more realistic one than Mr Ralfe's.
Mr Ralfe seems to think the resale of the Goldstone, of £24 million, came to the Albion.
The original (under) sale of £7 million by the previous board was used to pay off debts and for the disastrous move to Gillingham.
Waterhall as a site for the new stadium? Mr Ralfe wants Brighton and Hove City Council to come off the "green wagon". I thought this was the very same objection in the case of Falmer. Although the road link is good at Waterhall, there is no rail link, as at Falmer, which also has good road links.
Did people really move to Falmer to get away from people such as Mr Hart? What is he like, Mr Ralfe?
Mr Ralfe said Withdean FC will be playing on their ground this coming season and inviting the Albion to play there also. How very nice of him.
Does that mean, since the Albion pay over £20,000 a match, Withdean FC will pay that for their matches?
And the Albion paid thousands for the pitch to be resurfaced and drained. Will Withdean FC pay towards that as well? I don't think so, unless Mr Ralfe is a man of a vast fortune.
Come back to earth, Mr Ralfe, cloud cuckoo land is beyond you.
