Drivers faced rush hour delays today after two car crashes on the coast road in West Sussex.
There were long tailbacks in and out of Worthing after a head-on collision at 8.20am at the junction of the A259 Brighton Road and Navarino Road.
One vehicle, a silver Metro, flipped on to its side under the impact and the female driver was injured.
The woman, who got out before fire crews arrived, was taken to Worthing Hospital suffering from whiplash and shock.
In the other accident, at about 8am, police closed the A259 at Climping, near Littlehampton, after a crash outside the Oystercatcher pub.
It is believed the accident involved a moped rider who was taken to St Richard's Hospital, Chichester, following the accident, which also involved two cars.
His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
