Householders are being asked to check their gardens and outbuildings for a pensioner who has been missing since yesterday morning.
Police are concerned at the sudden disappearance of Margaret Branston, 70, who was last seen at her home in South Heighton, Newhaven, at 10am.
She is 5ft 6in tall and stockily built. She was last seen wearing grey trousers, grey shoes and a dark green jacket.
Inspector Ian Byford, of Sussex Police, said: "She has been ill recently and we are asking the public to help us find her.
"We want people in the Newhaven area to check their gardens and outbuildings."
