Passengers are furious after a bus service was withdrawn because of lack of use.
East Sussex County Council's 134 route will stop at the end of May.
The Metrobus runs from Seaford to Lewes, Monday to Friday at 8.10am, via Newhaven and the A26.
County council funding was to have ceased from the end of last October, but the route was saved after protests from residents.
But the council has said it can no longer afford the £4,000 a year subsidy to keep the service going.
Passengers from Seaford have alternative buses available if they use the 712 route to Newhaven and change to the 123 service to complete their trip to Lewes.
There is also a regular train service between Seaford and Lewes.
Bob Wilkins, director of transport and environment at the county council, said: "The pressures on our public transport budget continue to get worse.
"A number of commercial bus routes have been withdrawn in recent months in places where passengers have no alternative services available.
"We have had to step in and provide replacement routes at considerable cost and this makes it impossible to afford to continue supporting routes like the 134 where the use of the service is just too low."
But Catherine Dark, 44, of Seaford, uses the bus and is angry at the move. She said: "It is a disgrace. There are usually quite a few people on the bus."
