Martin Dugard has been axed from the Great Britain team for next week's international against Australia.

GB manager and one-time Eastbourne star Neil Middleditch has left Dugard out of the line-up for the match at Ipswich on Thursday.

Dugard, however, has no complaints about the decision.

The surprise is that Middleditch has omitted Dugard after naming him for last Monday's rained-off clash with Denmark.

Dugard said: "I told Neil in the first place there was no way I was going to spend a week in Poland in July for the World Cup.

"I held my hand up and said someone else should go and would probably do a better job than I would on the big tracks out there."

The ACU hearing into the match that never was will be held on May 31.

King's Lynn promoter Nigel Wagstaff, the cen-tral figure in his club's walkout at Arlington, is still insisting he was in the right.

He said: "I would do it again because I believe so strongly in our case.

"All we ask is that we get a fair trial. Ideally the fine should be scrapped and the 75-0 result over-turned."

Strangely, Eastbourne have not been asked to attend the hearing and give evidence.

Eagles supremo Jon Cook wants the next match against King's Lynn, due to be raced on June 16, to be put back until later in the season.

He said: "I don't think it is in anyone's interest for us to ride against King's Lynn the way things are at the moment."
