AS a fed-up resident of Coldean, I read with some interest your article on the rave at Woodingdean.
Along with many other long-suffering residents on this estate, I need only cast my mind back two weeks to recall the 16 days we had hostile travellers camped on the 39-acre field above the estate.
Not only were local shopkeepers and residents verbally abused but also children on the estate would not go out for fear of intimidation from travellers' children on quadbikes. Private property was vandalised and this local beauty spot used as a rubbish dump and racetrack.
While walking my dog, I approached ex-mayor and Labour councillor for Coldean Tehmtan Framroze. He replied, and I quote: "This is not our fault, this is a police problem." I am glad the residents of Woodingdean got such a swift response.
