Brighton was home to the skateboard when the craze swept the nation.
Now there are probably more kids and adults enjoying the modern micro-scooters here than anywhere else in the country thanks to the resort's free-and-easy atmosphere and the wide open spaces on the seafront.
Scooters lack the versatility of skateboards which set Dom Mason of Hove thinking.
Now he's combined the best of both worlds in the Skootboard, a cross between the two but with bicycle handlebars.
If the invention takes off it could be worth millions and provide endless fun for youngsters all over the world, both on skateboard ramps and on The Level.
