Sussex skipper Chris Adams will decide after practice today whether to play in tomorrow's Benson and Hedges Cup quarter-final against Surrey at Hove.
Adams netted for the first time yesterday since breaking his thumb nearly a month ago and came through without any problems.
Coach Peter Moores said: "Chris will face the seamers today and make a decision after that. He came through really well yesterday, but it's no more than 50-50 at the moment."
Sussex have won their last five matches in all competitions but they will need to overcome a full-strength Surrey team if they are to reach the B&H semi-finals for only the second time.
Alec Stewart and Graham Thorpe have been given permission by England coach Duncan Fletcher and their return means Surrey could field a team entirely made up of internationals.
But their winning run has instilled plenty of confidence in the Sussex ranks.
"They can only play 11 guys and bowl or face one ball at a time," added Moores. "It's going to be hard but we are playing well and fancy our chances against anyone in our own backyard."
