Explosives experts were called to blow up two German landmines found in Mid Sussex.
A resident found one flat landmine in Bolney, near Haywards Heath, yesterday afternoon. It was about 12in in diameter and marked with German lettering.
Another mine was discovered soon afterwards and they were found to contain about 16kg of explosive.
Bomb disposal experts confirmed the devices were wartime anti-tank mines carried out a controlled explosion at about 9pm last night.
The spot where the mine was found was well away from homes and roads.
