When I read the front page of The Argus (May 17), I wept.

Bobbie Hawes and her husband had been very dear friends of mine for as many years that they were married. To see, in black and white, just what happened makes me sick to my stomach.

I find it hard to imagine two yobbish bastards could have behaved in such a way as to spit at her. What sort of animals are we breeding?

Someone out there must know who the two delinquents are. For God's sake, please tell the police. These young thugs must be brought to book. So far as I am concerned, they committed manslaughter, if not murder.

It is all very well being told "vengeance is mine". I want vengeance on those two morons who killed my friend. She was indeed a marvellous woman. As a friend she was unequalled. Despite her incapacity, caused by an accident while working, her sense of humour remained.

Please, if you know anything, tell the cops. Bobbie's friends are begging you. I am shattered. To lose a friend is bad enough but to lose one in such a way is horrific.
