A new study claims you can tell someone's personality by the size and style of typeface used in their emails.
Courier is the "anorak of fonts", used by boozy, chain-smoking old-school journalists with goose neck lamps.
Fashion-conscious "pop chicks" use curvy styles, such as Georgia, while Prince Charles uses a modern Helvetica font to show he is in touch with contemporary issues.
Psychologist Dr Aric Sigman, who was commissioned by printer firm Lexmark to undetake the study, claims the choice of font is a form of social coding.
Styles such as Times New Roman and Palatino show trustworthiness and a compromise between old and new. Sans serif styles, such as Arial and Modern, are the "sensible pair of shoes of print", said Dr Sigman.
