A health trust has been given a good report for its efforts to spruce up its buildings.
South Downs Health NHS Trust has spent more than £100,000 on cleaning and refurbishing its properties in Brighton, Hove and Lewes.
A report from NHS Estates said the trust had responded positively to the national Clean Hospitals Programme and had carried out a series of positive improvements.
These include new accommodation for inpatients at Westbourne Hospital in Hove and the redecoration and refurbishment of communal areas at Brighton General Hospital.
The trust has outlined plans to continue to work towards improving the hospital environment for patients throughout the next year.
Head of facilities Bob Ellarby said: "This is very much an on-going project and we will continue to look at ways to carry out further changes.
"We are managing to get things to the standard we want and now the next step is to work to maintain those standards."
South Downs Health provides a wide range of specialist services, including community, adult and elderly mental health in the Brighton, Hove and Lewes areas.
