Drugs, thought to be heroin, were found when police and immigration officers raided an Indian restaurant.
Five people were discovered sleeping rough when officers entered the Shanaz Indian Cuisine in High Street, Lewes, at 8am yesterday.
One man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a small amount of heroin and he was later released on bail pending analysis of the substance.
Three other men were arrested by immigration officials onsuspicion of possessing forged papers. They were taken to Eastbourne police station for further questioning.
Four mobile phones and a computer printer, all suspected of being stolen, were seized at the restaurant.
An address in Crowborough was later searched and police recovered a laptop computer, also thought to have been stolen.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: "The searches were part of an on-going operation in relation to the recovery of stolen property."
