Seaford celebrated yesterday after clinching a clean beach award for the fourth year running.
Dozens of people turned out yesterday to see the Seaside Award Flag presented opposite the Beachcomber pub.
The flag was brought ashore by lifeboat and four children paraded it while the Seaford Silver Band played Sussex By The Sea.
It was then hoisted up by mayor Les Whittle to applause from onlookers.
The award, made by the Tidy Britain Group, recognises the town's clean water and beach management.
Town clerk Len Fisher said: "Foot-and-mouth has not helped us at all so it is nice and important to get this coveted recognition. To be awarded this for a fourth year is really great achievement."
