Anna Kournikova is on course to play at Eastbourne after a four-month injury break.
The Russian ace has recovered from a stress fracture to her left foot and will play the Britannic Asset Management International Championships at Devonshire Park from June 16 to 23.
Co-tournament director John Feaver said: "Anna is practising at a secret club in London and will be fit and ready for Eastbourne. It's great news for the event."
Kournikova, who will celebrate her 20th birthday on Thursday, has missed several tournaments including the French Open at Roland Garros because of the injury.
Organisers are hoping to confirm at least one more big name for Eastbourne this week.
Tour rules stipulate at least one player from the world's top four compete in every WTA event.
Conchita Martinez, Amelie Mauresmo, Nathalie Tauziat all play in the singles, while Martina Navratilova will compete in the doubles with Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario.
