It would have been nice to have been able to choose whether to listen to the Fatboy Slim concert last Friday.
I do not dislike the artist or the music but resent being forced to attend the concert whether or not I wished to, simply by virtue of living in central Brighton.
Why could not this concert have been organised on Saturday afternoon or at an out-of-town venue? Like many Argus correspondents, I have been all too aware of the insidous increase in noise from amplified music in and around the seafront - much of it with Brighton and Hove City Council's sanction. The latter seems to be forever in the pocket of the entertainment industry, to the detriment of local residents.
Our councillors may soon learn a very basic lesson, that it is not visitors, language students, hoteliers or promoters that elect them.
