Nearly £2.5 million is to be spent on health projects throughout Sussex.
The money is the county's share of £23 million Government and NHS regional funding aimed at improving waiting times and modernising treatment in the South-East.
Areas being targeted include orthopaedics, dermatology and ear, nose and throat (ENT) operations.
Brighton Health Care NHS Trust has been given £356,000 to upgrade its dermatology service and a further £211,000 to spend on improving an operating theatre at Royal Alexandra Hospital for Sick Children.
Eastbourne Hospitals NHS Trust is to spend £350,000 on orthopaedics while Hastings and Rother will receive £531,000.
Surrey and Sussex NHS Trust, which is responsible for Crawley and Horsham Hospitals, will receive £63,500 for its ENT service.
NHS South-East director of performance Bob Ricketts said: "All the schemes were drawn up by or in consultation with clinicians and are designed around what local communities and health economies want in order to provide improved access and services to patients."
