Artist Steve Mort-Hill has put his work of online and wants to do the same for fellow artists.

Mr Mort-Hill, from Worthing, first set up the web site to display his paintings, caricatures, cartoons and portraits.

He said: "I have put up about 100 pieces of my work and the great thing about the web is there's plenty of room for more.

"I am hoping other aspiring artists will want to be featured in different sections of my site. There are lots of frustrated artists in the same situation as me who could benefit from this kind of exposure."

Mr Mort-Hill studied graphic design at 16 but left college to work in casinos in the UK and abroad.

He said: "While I was working at a casino in Moscow, I regularly saw artists drawing and selling caricatures for a living on the streets.

"I realised it was something I could do and began to practice the art, rebuilding the training I had had before and adding new skills. I came back to the UK and worked as a street caricature artist in London's tourist areas.

"It's difficult to draw an accurate picture in half-an-hour and can be intimidating when there's a crowd watching you work but it was good experience."

Mr Mort-Hill moved to Sussex to concentrate on developing his talent.

His site features a cartoon strip called Kibble, which he hopes to syndicate to other web sites and sell on disc.

Mr Mort-Hill said: "I hope to encourage repeat visits to my site with a competition to win a T-shirt or a piece of original art work."
