I flagged down a man in a white van in St John's Road, Burgess Hill, on Monday, July 2.
Our dog Tucker was suffering from heat stroke. He could hardly move, was gasping for air and his tongue was turning blue. Even with all the car windows open, he became rapidly distressed in the baking heat and I had to stop my car.
This man let me use his mobile phone but, since we couldn't get immediate help, he lifted Tucker into his van and took us both to the nearest vet before he went on his way.
I was so upset I forgot to ask his name. If he could write to me, I could thank him personally. Mr Anonymous, if you hadn't come along when you did, our lovely border collie would be dead. He is now on the way to recovery.
Grateful thanks to all the staff at the Victoria Veterinary Clinic in London Road, who saved his life, especially Julie, who was so kind.
