A woman needed hospital treatment after a man armed with an air rifle shot her in the back in Eastbourne.
The victim was walking along Larkspur Drive, Langney, when the sniper struck.
The pellet caused a slight injury which required treatment at Eastbourne District General Hospital.
Police were today hunting the gunman, who they fear could hurt someone more seriously if he strikes again.
