I was interested to read the report "Show-off skiers are a danger" (August 28).

It is also becoming increasingly dangerous to swim off Shoreham beach because of the anti-social behaviour of both jet-skiers and water-skiers.

They show little regard for the safety of swimmers and young children playing at the edge of the sea.

There is also the problem of noise pollution. It is very unfair a tranquil day at the seaside is ruined for many people so a few can have fun with their noisy machines.

I am sure most people would prefer the sound of lapping waves.

I was also dismayed at the overwhelming smell of diesel fumes - hardly what one expects when going for a swim.
